Pinterest’s New Logo is Much Bolder Than Ever
Pinterest is the largest source of ideas helping people discover many kinds of inspirations since 2010 with over 459 million monthly active users. After 7 years serving people with tons of inspirations, Pinterest now came out with a change in its look. Pinterest’s new logo is much bolder than ever now after it is done avoiding common logo mistakes. Nonetheless, they still keep the pin-“P” mark as to accompany new wordmark that look less friendly to the badge.
Not only looking less friendly, the badge and the new wordmark look like they are in a competition. As a result, the whole logo seems like competitors that sit awkwardly close to each other. However there must be reasons behind this change if only we can take a good hard look. Moreover, Pinterest also warned through their brand guidelines that people should only use their badge and stay away from their wordmark.
Hence, its plain to see that maybe Pinterest wants to be identified only by its badge. This phenomenon of omitting wordmark just recently appeared on another app and of course there’s nothing wrong with it.
